The #1 Backpage Alternative for Personals & Classifieds

Backpage.com was seized and shut down by U.S. federal authorities in April 2018, and the domain has never returned. In the years since, dozens of copycat sites calling themselves "backpages," "the new backpage," or "newbackpage" have appeared and disappeared, often without any real moderation or safety features. BackpageSeek was built as a straightforward, still-active backpage alternative — not a clone using the Backpage name, but a free classifieds and personals platform with its own photo verification system, active in over 560+ cities across the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia.

Why People Search for a Backpage Alternative

Most people looking for "backpage alternatives" or a site "like backpage" want three things: a free local personals section, general classifieds (rentals, jobs, services, items for sale), and a platform that hasn't disappeared within a few months. BackpageSeek covers all three. Unlike listing aggregators that just scrape other sites, every ad here is posted directly by a local user, and photo-verified accounts get a visible badge so you can tell real posters from spam accounts.

How BackpageSeek Compares

Compared to unverified clone sites, BackpageSeek requires no account fees to browse or post, does not resell your contact details, and actively removes listings that violate its guidelines. If you've tried a "backpage similar" site before and found it full of dead links or bots, that's exactly the problem this platform was built to avoid.
